A sad day

A sad day indeed. My two teams that played today both lost. One team lost to end its season while the other's loss was not as severe as it happened during the first week of its season. Yep, the Bruins lost in the Final Four in men's basketball. A coworker, who had season tickets to the Bruins and who took me to one game in the season, was able to get 2 tickets to the Final Four. He was a little disappointed at the result but he and his daughter and having a blast. The Alamodome in San Antonio was the site and they set it up to have 70,000 people in attendance. I told Mike to sell the tickets to the finals game and maybe recoup some of the money he shelled out for them, but he's gonna stick around and watch the game. He's gonna charge me $500 for the cap I asked him to get for me instead.

As for my Dodgers, they lost today to San Diego. Losing to a divisional rival is never good but it's early in the season. And we killed them yesterday 7-1 when the boys in blue won the same night as my Lakers won in beating Dallas. It's a great time of year for sports fan, but it's hard when more than one team is playing. There are lots of overlap this time of year, but that is what the remote is for, I guess. Just hit the "Last Channel" button. Last night was like that when the Lakers and Dodgers were playing at the same time and both games ended almost simultaneously. Hmmm, maybe that was the problem today - the Dodgers played three hours earlier than the Bruins and they both lost.

Oh well, life goes on. I was able to go down to LA today and take my mom shopping at Costco and then headed to the Eagle Rock Plaza. Made it back early enough to watch some of the Bruins game before heading to Mass. So despite the losses I was able to end the day on a great note and spend time with my brothers and sisters at Mass, and then received Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. So a sad day, but in sports only. With Jesus, any day is a great day.
